Titanium or Acetate? A Practical Frame Guide

Titanium frames are usually thin and light. They are a good place to start if you prefer a barely-there feel or need a frame that remains comfortable through a long day.

Acetate frames tend to have more visual weight and are available in a wider range of colours and patterns. Their thicker rims can also make a stronger style statement.

Both materials can be adjusted by an optician, but they feel different on the face. A light metal frame may use adjustable nose pads, while an acetate frame often rests directly on a moulded bridge.

There is no single better material. Try both, compare the bridge and temple pressure, and choose the frame you will be comfortable wearing every day.
